What are you imagining? When your mind wanders off into possibilities of a now other then the one happening in the moment, what’s the quality of your imaginations? I’m being diligent about watching my mind and conversations. Seeding and feeding healthy images, imagining responses and approaches to this new time that are cooperative, life-giving, grief-allowing, hard truth facing, wild imagination inviting, on the ground supportive, re-ordering of our social systems…
I’m also noticing and being as gentle as I can with myself when I catch my mind down the more destructive paths…
Thank you Tory Lindsey for these healthy white blood cells. Seeing these healthy cells fast at work in all our bodies, in our collective body, just like the health care workers, grocery clerks, janitors and cleaning staff, child care workers, delivery folks, and so many others who are showing up to serve life and well-being for so many.
If your movement out of the house is not promoting the well-being of others, please stay home. If the images in your mind are all fear and worry, please experiment with imagining and visioning some other realities. Prayer serves in this way for me also.
And if you are looking for something to do — Advocate! Rent and mortgage moratoriums are essential. Paid sick leave. The release of folks in detention centers and incarcerated. In buncombe county – the TDA should be supporting workers in the tourist industry who have lost their jobs. Nurses and medical staff need protection. Safe places to sleep and clean for folks without homes. Everyone deserves access to health care…
Let’s create a different reality than the one that left us vulnerable to this humanitarian crisis…
Sending love 💕
UPDATE from April 18th. I have made imagining healthy white blood cells a daily practice. Feeling my own strength and health in my own body and as part of my prayers for other people’s bodies and our collective body.
